Janey Buttler Saavedra has a fascination with lettering that began when she was a young girl, while copying her mother's distinctive handwriting. This early introduction to letterform was the beginning to an adventurous career specializing in that discipline.

Janey's keen interest in the lettering arts has taken her down many roads. She spent several years in Europe drinking in the visual feast of European signage as she found her way to the bibliotheks, vaults, and museums to study the historical manuscripts. She went on to study sign painting techniques at Los Angeles Trade Tech and continued with Visual Communications and Calligraphic Arts at Cerritos College.

Her skills and formal education prepared her for a career working for Disney, where she specialized in lettering design. Her work adds to the magical fabric of the Disney theme parks in the United States, Europe and Asia.

Today, Janey is expanding into Licensing and Surface Design with her unique lettering style and new whimsical illustrations.
